Annual Shop Local Contest begins soon

Buy Local this Holiday Season, Support the Local Economy and Win Great Prizes!

Shop Local & Win Prizes! Support the North Lake Tahoe business community this holiday season by participating in the 5^th Annual Shop Local Contest, shop from Thanksgiving week through Christmas to New Year’s Eve, for a chance to win the Grand Prize, a Tahoe Dave’s $500 Gift Certificate and other great prizes from local businesses and organizations including tickets to 2012 North Lake Tahoe events and lots more!

It’s easy! Pick up a Shop Local Contest Card and start shopping. For every $20 spent at participating retailers, you’ll receive a sticker for your contest card. Every purchase gets you closer to winning. Contest Cards will be available at businesses throughout North Lake Tahoe by November 23.  Participating businesses will be listed at http://www.northtahoebusiness.org/, http://www.visittahoecity.org/, and http://www.visitinclinevillage.com/.    Be sure to check back often as new businesses will be added throughout the season. Turn in your contest cards by December 31 at the locations listed on the card and you will be entered into the raffle. Drawing winners will be announced in early January 2012.

New this year, contest cards with 13 stickers or more will be eligible for the Grand Prize drawing for a Tahoe Dave’s $500 gift certificate.  Non-winning contest cards from the Grand Prize drawing and all other contest cards with three or more stickers are eligible to win additional prizes.

When you shop local you help the North Lake Tahoe economy and help to keep our small independent shops in business. Plus, you’ll find great unique gifts for everyone on your list. Plus, think of the gas money you’ll save by shopping locally! Researchers have proved that for every $100 spent in independently owned stores, $68 returns to our community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend that in a national chain, only $43 stays here. Spend it online and there is NO BENEFIT to our community.
