The TCDA is a non-profit, 501 C6 corporation comprised of local merchants, property owners, community associations, residents, professionals, and contributors who are committed to working together to formulate, direct, and forge a sound and prosperous future for Tahoe City and the entire North Lake Tahoe area.
We welcome your participation and invite you to get involved in supporting the TCDA and its goals. Your support as a member, sponsor, and/or volunteer is vital to the success of our organization and of Tahoe City.
The Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA) is dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of the Tahoe City community. Through innovation, leadership, advocacy, and events, we serve as the local voice to maintain a vibrant and prosperous place to live, work, play and visit.
By 2020, we envision making Tahoe City “America’s Best Mountain Town to visit, live, and work.”

MEET THE STAFF
Meet our incredible staff who dedicate their lives to making Tahoe City America’s Best Mountain Town.
JT moved to the Lake Tahoe basin from Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006 to pursue a life in the mountains. He has worked in snowboard instruction for Sierra at Tahoe, live broadcast television and production management for LakeTahoe Television, brand management and production for name brands (GoPro, The North Face, CamelBak), and event management for Homewood Mountain Resort. He has served as Executive Director for the TCDA since May 2017.
Jamie is a Tahoe City native who has lived and worked in the North Lake Tahoe community for over 30 years. Though she has studied at various institutions, she feels the most valuable and significant knowledge has come from living life with awareness and intention while also helping others through volunteering, non-profit work, and community collaboration. She loves learning and has a deep appreciation for nature, gardening, and art.
Dana Tanner Powell
Event & Volunteer Coordinator
Dana’s love of skiing, hiking, kayaking, and paddleboarding (plus the small-town community feel of Tahoe City) brought her here from Palo Alto in 1997. She studied at UC Davis where she received a B.S. in Human Development and at San Jose State University where she earned her M.A. in Counselor Education. She has a passion for helping people and for helping the Tahoe City community evolve into a vibrant social/arts/activities center.
Formed under the Main Street Four-Point Approach’s guiding principles (Organization, Promotion, Design, & Economic Vitality), TCDA works tirelessly to create a vibrant Tahoe City community, all year long. Join us!
TCDA membership offers a variety of exclusive benefits including discounted advertising, high-profile sponsorship opportunities, and educational and consulting opportunities. In addition to the signature annual events that continue to drive business to Tahoe City, the TCDA supports partner events, boosts volunteerism, and continues commercial programs and advocacy on behalf of our members and community. We are always hard at work planning and promoting our events and services, and there are plenty of opportunities for members to share their time and expertise.
Your sponsorship commitment to one (or more!) of TCDA’s signature events is critical to Tahoe City’s success and vibrancy and will ensure that these events can continue in the coming years. Your business will get valuable exposure to the community. We have many sponsorship options available or we can help you create your own custom sponsorship package.
Because Tahoe City Downtown Association is a not-for-profit organization, volunteers are critical to our success in making Tahoe City a vibrant and prosperous place for local businesses, residents, and visitors alike. We need volunteers of all ages year-round for our events, such as Concerts at Commons Beach, the Fourth of July Fireworks Show, and Tahoe City Oktoberfest. Additionally, if you would like to offer professional services or other forms of support, we’d love to hear from you.
