“The Magic of Mountain Partnerships”

 Alpenglow Sports is proud to announce the third installment of the 2013/14 Winter Film Series with world-famous female ski
mountaineer and Salomon-athlete Kim Havell. On January 9th , 2014 at 7pm Havell will share her tale “The Magic of Mountain Partnership,” at Squaw Valley’s Olympic Village Lodge.
An instructor and guide for Ice Axe Expeditions, San Juan Outdoor School, and H2O Heli Guides, Havell has skied on all seven continents and adventured in over fifty countries.Her ski mountaineering curriculum vitae includes 20,000-foot-plus Himalayan peaks, expeditions in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, and various descents in Alaska, Aconcagua, Norway, Russia, Japan, and France. Havell has also skied and climbed in both the North and South Pole.
In addition to her global ski mountaineering exploits, Havell has also ticked off the biggest and gnarliest lines in her home range, the Grand Tetons. She is the premier female ski mountaineer in the world.
Havell’s tale, “The Magic of Mountain Partnership” will focus on the role of great partners in her skiing endeavors. Backlit by tales of great adventures from Nepal to Pakistan to Antarctica to Norway, the Salomon athlete believes that without great partners amazing adventure is not possible. Her tale will portray how the special nature of expeditions and ski descents are amplified by great friendships, particularly when suffering and success are involved.
The show is FREE and is designed to motivate, inspire, and educate. Amazing raffle prizes from Salomon, Black Diamond, Osprey, Buff, Pro Bar and Suunto will be on hand. 100% of proceeds will benefit the Sierra Avalanche Center.
