Meet Gary Davis, President of Gary Davis Group & Tahoe City local.
Gary grew up in Oakland, but gained early training in heavy construction, civil engineering (and a passion for travel) while working with the U.S. Army Engineer Battalion building airbase support facilities and roads in Vietnam & Thailand. His path eventually led him to a degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University.
Looking for a change from the Bay Area, Gary moved east to Tahoe in 1986 and opened his own firm, the Gary Davis Group, in 1992. However, after over 23 years of business in downtown Tahoe City, the firm was sold to JK Architecture Engineering in 2015. But don’t worry; Gary’s team is in great hands and Gary is still working…at least for a few more years.
Over the years, Gary has fallen in love with his career, his work family, and his Tahoe City community. He is constantly reminded of his impact when he drives around Tahoe and sees homes and land development projects brought to life by the Gary Davis Group.
When not working, you can find Gary living the dream by traveling the world, skiing powder at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, sailing on Lake Tahoe, enjoying amazing food/wine at Wolfdale’s or River Grill, implementing town-wide beautification projects (summer flower baskets/winter holiday lighting) or just giving back to his HOME – Tahoe City.
Gary is excited and encouraged about the new horizon of Tahoe City and he is passionate to identify opportunities for affordable and workforce housing to help the younger generation live, work and play in our community.
